BUILDING BUSINESS & COMMUNITY THROUGH LEADERSHIP

Amanda Flaherty has been a key member of the Origen’s team for more than 10 years, managing daily business operations and overseeing property management of all portfolios.

She is responsible for accounting and human resource activities, office management, and supervising other staff members. Amanda holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Assumption College. After several years in the computer field, she was ready for a career change and joined Origen Ventures.

James Robertson is a licensed real estate broker and licensed builder who has been managing properties in the Greater Boston area for more than 20 years. As the founder and principal of Origen Ventures, he continues to acquire and develop properties in Boston and the surrounding areas. 

Following graduation from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, Jim began his extensive training in the realty sector, including founding Centre Street Realty, which acquired, renovated, and stabilized distressed properties in Boston.

Since that time he has developed many properties, creating housing in under-valued areas. Jim completed Boston’s first historic green rehabilitation by transforming a vacant historic building into luxury housing. Jim is an active member of the South End community, working with The Landmarks Commission and The South End Historical Society. He also continues to support the UMass Men’s Swimming Program, including founding a mentoring program for alumni and recent grads.

John Gibbons is responsible for capital investments at Origen, including the acquisition of new loans as well as the resolution and disposition of loan assets. John brings more than 17 years of professional experience in banking, finance, and marketing to the Origen team.

Prior to joining Origen, John was a vice president in the Global Restructuring Group at RBS Citizens, responsible for recovery management and the bank’s non-performing note sales. His extensive business experience includes previous positions at GE Capital, FleetBoston Financial, IPIX, and Citi Smith Barney.

John holds a bachelor’s of business administration from Western Connecticut State University and a master’s of business administration from Suffolk University. John currently serves on the board of the Women’s Institute for Housing and Economic Development.

Kaitlyn Foy manages administrative duties for the Origen Ventures office. Since joining the team, she has become a notary public and a licensed real estate salesperson. Kaitlyn earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Suffolk University, and after graduation spent several years in the service industry working her way up to management. With more than six years of experience she decided to change industries and joined Origen, where she has quickly become a key staff member.
